From November 1, 2026, the Tax-Free Shopping System
will change to the "Refund Method"

The new system applies to purchases made on or after November 1, 2026.
Purchases made until October 31, 2026 follow the current system.

Procedure flow (from November 2026)

1. When purchasing

Present your passport at our shop and purchase the items including consumption tax.
Scan the QR code at our shop and register your refund details on the J-TaxRefund website.

2. When departing

Within 90 days of the date of purchase, complete the customs inspection at the terminal for tax-free procedures before checking your luggage at the airline counter.

3. After customs inspection

After the customs inspection is confirmed, the consumption tax is refunded automatically by J-TaxRefund to the refund method you registered.

* At Narita, Haneda, Kansai, Chubu, New Chitose, Fukuoka and Naha airports, you can complete the process using Visit Japan Web (VJW) instead of the terminal. Registering with VJW before or after entering Japan makes the procedures smoother.

About the Refund Method (from November 2026)

Conditions for tax free purchase

Must be a foreign tourist with passport.
Foreigners working in Japan or those who have resided in Japan for
over 6 months do not qualify as non-residents.

Applicable to purchases of 5,000 yen or more (excluding tax).

About the Tax-free Program

You can purchase any item in shops free of
consumption tax under certain conditions.

You are eligible for tax-free shopping if you are a visitor with
a temporarily stay status.

For tax-free shopping, you must present your passport.
The shop will affix a purchase proof document to your
passport which will be collected by Customs at the time of departure.

Caution : Please do not remove or misplace the purchase proof document.

About the Tax-free items

You must take the tax-free goods out of Japan.

Goods purchased for business or commercial purposes are not eligible for
the tax-free program.

Tax-free procedures will be processed at the shop where you purchase
the goods and cannot be processed together
with goods purchased in other shops.

Tax-free procedures will be processed on the day you purchase the goods.
Completing the tax-free procedure for goods purchased on a different day
is not possible.

We can do tax free sale to persons having passport only,
and not to any other persons.

The shop will take a copy of your passport for spending of over 1,000,000 JPY.

You cannot shop tax-free if…

there is no stamp indicating the day of arrival.

you work in Japan.

your stay has exceeded 6 months.

your spending is not within the range of the applicable amount.

We cannot sale the goods tax free on duplicates of documents like copies.
